On Day 2, you will start exploring Cherrapunji (Sohra), one of the wettest places on Earth. This region is a natural and living museum of cliffs, waterfalls and subterranean wonders. Here, you will find Nohkalikai falls, India's tallent plunge waterfall at 340 metres, lands directly into a turquoise pool on the ground. The mist rise from its base will you give you an unforgettable sight. Moving ahead, you'll see the Seven Sisters Falls spilling down in seven different strands - a perfect example of interconnected rivers and cultures of Meghalaya. Cherrapunji is also dotted with caves such as Mawsmai cave, that are easy to explore for beginners. Inside the caves, you will see the limestone formations shinning slowly under the soft lighting and the cool air further add to its mystery. It is surrounded by the Khasi Hills on both sides. You will also find the Indo-Bangladesh suspension bridge at Dawki, a perfect picture point for striking photographs. Next, you'll visit Mawlynnong village, proudly marked as the "Asia's cleanest village" by Discover India Magazine. Here, sustainability is way of life not just a buzzword. The pathways here are built entirely of spotless bamboo. The villagers also maintain compost pits and flowering gardens around every home. Walking through this village feels like stepping into an open-air classroom on eco-tourism and community living. And the best part you shouldn't miss is the Living Root Bridge - a natural bridge grown over decades by training the roots on ancient rubber trees. You can also walk through bamboo skywalk for panoramic views over the plains of Bangladesh. By the end of this day, you will have enough memories and experiences than many week-long trips elsewhere.
