Indian travellers applying for Schengen visas are set to see changes in visa application centre locations in early 2026. The Schengen Joint Visa Application Centre in New Delhi will relocate from its current address near Shivaji Stadium Metro Station to a new facility on 27 KG Marg. Meanwhile, the Austria Visa Application Centre in Mumbai has already moved to a new location in Mahalaxmi. These changes aim to improve the applicant experience and streamline services as demand for European travel remains high among Indian passport holders.

Delhi Visa Centre Relocation - What You Need to Know

The Schengen Joint Visa Application Centre, which processes applications for member countries including Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Slovenia, Norway and Sweden, will begin relocating in phases starting January 12, 2026.

January 9, 2026 - Last day at the current Shivaji Stadium location for the first group of Schengen missions.

January 12, 2026 - Applications accepted at the new 27 KG Marg centre.

January 19, 2026 - All passport collections and services will fully shift to the KG Marg office for all missions, including Germany, Belgium, Poland, the Netherlands and more.

To help applicants during the transition, a complimentary courtesy transfer service will be available for a limited period, assisting those who report to the old location by transporting them to the new centre.

Austria Visa Centre Moves to Mumbai

Travel-seekers planning to apply for an Austria visa in Mumbai should note that, since January 2, 2026, the Austria Visa Application Centre has moved to:

Urmi Axis Building, Second Floor, behind Famous Studio, opposite E Moses Road, Mahalaxmi (West), Mumbai 400011.

All visa submissions, biometric enrolments, and passport collections must now be done at this new location.

The previous address will no longer offer any Austria visa services. Applicants are advised to update their appointment details and plan their visits accordingly to avoid delays.

Why This Matters for Indian Travellers

These relocations come amid growing demand for Schengen visits from Indian travellers, as Europe remains a popular destination for tourism, business and education. Visa facilitation services in India are managed by VFS Global, which supports multiple Schengen missions across major cities.

Travel advisory experts recommend that applicants always check the latest centre addresses and documents on official sites before heading to their appointments - especially during transition periods when operations may overlap between old and new centres.
