This year’s Tirupati Vaikuntha Darshan will draw lakhs of devotees as the sacred Vaikuntha Dwaram stays open for 10 days, from December 30 to January 8. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has revised rules, shut down many special privileges, and moved almost everything online to give more time to common devotees.

Key festival dates you must know

The main focus days are December 30, 31, and January 1. These cover Vaikuntha Ekadashi, Vaikuntha Dwadashi, and the New Year. On these three peak days, entry for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan will happen only through an electronic lucky draw. No ₹300 tickets, no Srivani tickets, and no special darshan for senior citizens, infants, NRIs, or others.

From January 2 to 8, TTD will open online booking for 15,000 Special Entry Darshan (₹300) tickets and 1,000 Srivani tickets per day. All free Sarva Darshan will run through the Vaikuntham Queue Complex 2 without tokens.

Many families also plan their Tirupati pilgrimage around Vaikuntha Chaturdashi 2025, which falls in the same Margashirsha season, so demand will stay high across these weeks.

How the online dip and tickets work

For December 30, 31, and January 1, you must register for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan through the TTD website, app, or Andhra Pradesh government WhatsApp bot. The 1+3 rule allows one main devotee plus three family members on a single entry.

One Aadhaar-linked mobile can support a 1 plus 3 family entry, which means four people in total per registration. The computer draw happens on December 2, and only those names will get entry to Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan on those three days.

For January 2–8, you can book ₹300 tickets and Srivani tickets online from December 5. Book fast, as these quotas usually sell out in minutes. Devotees who miss the lucky dip can plan their trip on these later days and still pass through Vaikuntha Dwaram as part of the extended schedule.

Donor families who gave large amounts to TTD get a limited number of daily slots, also through online booking. Local residents of Tirupati and Tirumala get a separate 5,000-ticket quota for January 6–8.

Reaching Tirupati and planning your stay

Most visitors reach Tirupati by train, bus, or flight and then travel uphill to Tirumala by TTD buses, licensed taxis, or on foot from Alipiri or Srivari Mettu. All vehicles face strict checks at the ghat road points, so plan extra time for security.

Book rooms in Tirumala and Tirumala Darshan-linked guest houses or private hotels in the city as early as possible. TTD expects to provide Tirupati Vaikuntha Darshan to almost eight lakh devotees this season, so last-minute rooms will be rare.

Carry your ticket printout or soft copy, original ID cards for every member, and a few passport-size photos. Keep your phone charged; most updates, including dip results and slot timings, reach you digitally.

Crowd, safety, and simple on-ground tips

Inside Tirumala, follow the signboards and staff guidance to the Vaikuntham Queue Complex blocks. Movement can be slow, so bring water, light snacks, and basic medicines, especially for children and elders.

Avoid large bags, cameras, and gadgets, as they delay checks and may not be allowed near the temple. Stay away from agents and “shortcut” claims; TTD has shifted to full digital control this year and warns against unofficial deals.

Early mornings and late nights on the hilltop can feel cold in December and January, so carry a thin sweater or shawl. Keep your group close in the crowd, agree on a fixed meeting point, and share a single contact number with children.

For many, it is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage linked to deep vows and family faith. With clear reading of this travel news, early booking, and strict use of official channels, you give yourself the best chance to experience Tirupati Vaikuntha Darshan during the extended Vaikuntha Chaturdashi 2025 period, without losing energy to confusion or last-minute fixes.
